Summer!

I love summer! Every year my parents switch between letting my sister and I choose where we want to go for vacation. This year it was my turn to choose, and I chose Egypt. I chose Egypt because it is so rich in history and has such an interesting culture. On June 8 we will leave for Cairo, where we will be staying at the Cairo Marriott Hotel. We will also be staying in Alexandria for a couple of days at the Renaissance Alexandria hotel. While we are in Egypt we will get to see the pyramids of Giza and Chephren, the Cheops pyramid, and of course the sphinx! We will also get to see the Necropolis of Thebes, tomb of King Tut, temple of Queen Hatshepsut at Deir el Bahari and the Colossi of Memnon. We will also be going to the High Dam, the Granite Quarries and the Unfinished Obelisk. We will also be visiting the Egyptian Museum which is famous for the treasures of King Tut and its other interesting artifacts. We'll also be going to Old Cairo, where we'll go to the really old Coptic Churches and the oldest Jewish Synagogue. We'll also visit the bazaars in Khan-El-Khalili, for some shopping! There is also a trip down the Nile which we will be taking, and we will be going scuba diving and going to some beaches near Cairo. After we return from Egypt,in July, we will be going to the Wisconsin Dells with my aunt and cousins(Cameron,16,Katlyn,13,and Jacob,9). I am very excited to go to the Dells again this year! My cousins and I love to go on the huge water slides and roller coasters! There are many types of water slides at the Dells, including this really large one that you go down in a large raft with at least 3 other people. It's called the storm, because it's in the dark, except for the fake lightning and thunder that go off. It's really scary, but my cousins always get me to go on it with them in the end. :) We also love going down the lazy rivers, and there's even a two-level one! We also love to go horse back riding. There are really fantastic spas and shopping outlets, too! I am also taking some tai chi, pottery, painting and yoga classes! I also can't wait to get to play tennis with my friends again once my foot is fully healed! :) I love summer and I'm really looking forward to it!
